Our Story
Grounded Flooring was founded on a shared commitment to excellence, honed through over a decade of collaboration and friendship between our founding owners, Sam Day & Joe Williams. Sam, a qualified carpenter with a wealth of experience, first worked alongside Joe when he joined Sam and his father as a labourer during his school and university years. Over time, their professional relationship grew into a close friendship, forged through hard work and a shared passion for craftsmanship.
Sam continued to refine his carpentry skills and built excellent knowledge of industry practice, processes and available materials. This lead Sam on to becoming an expert floorer, hand picking a team of floor fitters who share his commitment to excellence. Joe pursued a Masters degree in economics and finance, earning professional qualifications and gaining valuable expertise in business management and client relations. Despite their different paths, their shared ambition brought them back together to establish Grounded Flooring.
